Dermal Filler Aftercare
The goal of dermal filler aftercare is to obtain optimal treatment results.
Avoid massaging the injected area unless instructed otherwise by your provider. If you experience large lumps, contact your provider
Avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours. Any activity that increases your heart rate will increase swelling
Avoid sun exposure, saunas, hot tubs and steam rooms for two weeks after your treatment
Avoid consuming alcohol or excessive salt for 72 hours after your treatment
Gently applying a cold compress or ice pack for 15 minutes each hour while awake for the first 12 hours can help reduce swelling
If having cheek or temple filler, please sleep on your back for 72 hours
Sleep with your head slightly elevated to help with swelling
We recommend taking Arnica (found in most drugstores) to help with bruising and swelling for 3-4 days
Avoid applying skincare products and makeup for 24 hours
If having lip filler, avoid wearing lipstick/lip gloss or makeup for 24 hours
Do not schedule any dental work, surgeries, laser procedures, peels, facials or vaccinations for two weeks prior to or following your treatment
Sanitize your phone frequently after your treatment
Tylenol may be taken for discomfort
CALL YOUR PROVIDER IMMEDIATELY if you notice bruising that is not in the area that was treated, blanching or mottling of the skin, any numbness or pain inside the mouth, in teeth or cheeks, blisters or any visual changes
Return for your two week followup appointment and post treatment photos
