Q: What is permanent makeup?
A: Permanent makeup is cosmetic tattooing performed to enhance eyes, eyebrows and lips.
Q: Is it painful to have permanent makeup performed?
A: An anesthetic is used to numb the area prior to having permanent makeup performed. During the procedure, an intra-dermal anesthetic is applied to alleviate any breakthrough discomfort. Patients are pleasantly surprised at hot comfortable they are during the procedure.
Q: How long does permanent makeup last?
A: Permanent makeup procedures are considered permanent because pigment is tattooed into the upper reticular layer of the dermis and cannot be washed off. As with most tattoos, fading does occur, requiring periodic maintenance touch-ups.
Q: How long does each permanent makeup procedure take?
A: The initial procedure will generally take between 2 and 2 1/2 hours. Retouch appointments do not require the same amount of procedure time.
