Permanent Makeup Instructions

  • Do not wear any makeup to your appointment.
  • If having eyeliner, do not wear contacts and bring your glasses with you. You will not be able to wear contacts for 72 hours.
  • If having eyeliner, your eyes may be light sensitive. It's a good idea to bring sun glasses to wear home.
  • If having eyeliner, do not dye or perm your lashes for 72 hours prior to or two weeks following.
  • It's helpful to take an antihistamine like Benadryl prior to your procedure. This may reduce swelling and help you to relax. It can also help decrease watery eyes.
  • Do not tweeze, wax or dye eyebrows for 72 hours prior to or two weeks following permanent eyebrows.
  • Electrolysis should not be performed in the area being tattooed for one week prior.
  • All patients having full lip color will need a prescription for Valtrex to help prevent cold sores from occurring. You will need to start this one day prior.
  • You will be given the necessary ointment for aftercare at your appointment. There is no need to purchase anything.
  • With full lip color, it is recommended to not have any fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane less than one month prior to lip tattooing.
  • Keep in mind that you will likely have swelling following all tattoo procedures. It is recommended to not schedule your appointment within 1 week prior to any social event.
  • If you currently fill in your eyebrows, please bring your powder or pencil with you to your appointment.
  • If you have had any type of eye surgery, consult with your physician on how long you should wait before having eyeliner.
  • Please avoid any alcohol 72 hours before all tattooing. Alcohol can increase bleeding.
  • Try to avoid the following before any tattooing procedure: Aspirin or similar products, Niacin, Vitamin E, any over the counter vitamins or herbs. These can increase swelling and bleeding. DO NOT discontinue any medications without first checking with your physician.
  • If using Retin A, Renova, Retinol, Alpha Hydroxy or Glycolic Acids, please discontinue use for one week prior to tattooing.
  • Please call if you have any questions.
